Dump Truck Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our small family operated trucking company. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk loads to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving and route management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks and flatbeds with precision and adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load, secure, and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary
• Drive route-specific deliveries, ensuring punctuality and accuracy in delivery schedules
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Maintain detailed logs of mileage, cargo, fuel consumption, and delivery records for compliance purposes
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery status or any operational concerns
• Follow all safety protocols related to manual transmission operation, refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, and other specialized equipment

Experience

• Proven experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial driving environment
• Delivery driver experience with a focus on route driving and load & unload procedures
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for transporting bulk materials
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely is preferred
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (Class B)
• Experience working with dirt moving equipment is a plus but not mandatory
