Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dump Truck Driver Dispatcher to coordinate the efficient movement of heavy construction materials across various job sites. In this vital role, you will serve as the central communication hub, ensuring timely dispatching of dump trucks and other heavy equipment to support construction projects. Your proactive approach and keen attention to detail will help keep operations running smoothly, safely, and on schedule. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assign dump truck routes and schedules to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines
- Communicate effectively with drivers, construction crews, and site managers to relay instructions and updates
- Monitor truck locations and statuses using GPS or other tracking systems to ensure timely deliveries
- Maintain accurate logs of dispatch activities, driver hours, and equipment usage for compliance and reporting purposes (Technically savvy expert with Microsoft Office product suite)
- Troubleshoot logistical issues promptly, adjusting plans as needed to avoid delays
- Ensure all drivers adhere to safety protocols, including proper vehicle operation and load securement procedures
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs or mechanical issues for heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, horizontal drilling rigs, tankers, and paving machinery
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and FieldEase, with hands-on experience in dispatch reporting, load tracking, and daily crew time entry to ensure accurate job costing and operational efficiency
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including dump trucks, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, tankers, and paving machinery
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
- Construction site experience with familiarity in operating or coordinating heavy machinery like Caterpillar equipment
- Knowledge of construction processes and safety standards applicable to heavy equipment operation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating between drivers and project teams
- Ability to troubleshoot logistical challenges quickly and efficiently
- Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems and dispatch software for real-time monitoring
