Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role involves assisting customers with their medical equipment needs, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring a seamless service experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience in managed care environments.
Duties
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding durable medical equipment products and services.
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage details, including managed care plans, to facilitate accurate billing and order processing.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate medical equipment based on their needs and prescribed treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of insurance information, prescriptions, and service interactions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality during all communications.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve issues.
- Utilize medical terminology, knowledge to process claims accurately and efficiently.
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with managed care processes, insurance verification procedures, and medical coding standards.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Office experience with proficiency in handling medical billing or coding tasks is advantageous.
- Related healthcare fields will be considered a plus.
