Duty Medical Officer

Patient Assessment & Clinical Care

Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as per consultant orders.

Monitor patients' vital signs, treatment progress, and clinical status.

Perform initial assessment and physical examination of patients admitted to wards, emergency, or ICU.

Take detailed medical history and document findings.

Carry out procedures such as IV cannulation, catheterization, Ryle’s tube insertion, wound care, etc.

Emergency Management

Respond promptly to medical emergencies across hospital premises.

Initiate emergency investigations and treatments as required.

Coordinate with senior consultants during critical events.

Documentation & Records

Record clinical notes, progress reports, medication orders, and discharge summaries (as instructed).

Ensure completeness of medical documentation for audits and compliance.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient files and treatment charts.

Coordination with Consultants & Nursing Staff

Communicate patient status and significant changes to the respective consultant.

Ensure timely implementation of consultant instructions and treatment plans.

Collaborate with nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, and other departments for patient care.
