Job Title: Duty Doctor / Duty Medical Doctor

Job Summary:

The Duty Doctor/DMO is responsible for providing round-the-clock medical care to patients, ensuring clinical excellence during duty hours, and coordinating with nursing and support staff. This role ensures immediate response to medical emergencies and supports overall patient care management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend to all OPD/IPD patients during duty hours.
• Perform initial patient evaluation and stabilization in case of emergencies.
• Monitor in-patient cases, update progress notes, and coordinate with consultants.
• Provide medical care and treatment based on standard clinical protocols.
• Manage emergency cases and initiate life-saving measures.
• Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and medical records.
• Supervise medication administration and ensure correct dosages/timing.
• Support during patient admission, discharge, and referral processes.
• Liaise with diagnostic departments for investigations and reports.
• Maintain discipline, hygiene, and adherence to hospital protocols.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and family members.

Qualifications:

• Education: MBBS from a recognized university/institution.
• Registration: Must have valid medical registration (TNMC).
• Experience: 0–3 years preferred (freshers with strong clinical skills may apply).

Skills Required:

• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with hospital software and medical recordkeeping.
• Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.

Shift-based (Morning/Evening/Night)
