Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and result-oriented AVP – Legal to lead our legal function. The role requires deep knowledge of NBFC recoveries, cheque bounce litigation, and compliance frameworks. The ideal candidate will work closely with operations, credit, collections, and senior leadership to manage risk, ensure legal compliance, and accelerate recoveries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle and oversee all Section 138 (cheque bounce) cases and ensure timely legal action
• Manage civil and criminal litigation related to loan recovery, fraud, or defaults
• Review and draft loan agreements, notices, and recovery documentation in line with NBFC practices
• Ensure RBI compliance, legal audits, and policy alignment with evolving regulations
• Coordinate with external legal counsels, manage ongoing litigation across branches
• Lead the in-house legal team and maintain accurate legal MIS/reporting
• Advise on collateral enforcement, including repossession of vehicles and property-based loans
• Stay updated on changes in financial laws impacting NBFCs

Key Requirements:

• 12 to 16 years of legal experience, preferably in NBFCs or BFSI sector
• Strong exposure to Section 138 NI Act, loan recovery litigation, and arbitration
• Sound knowledge of RBI NBFC guidelines, contract law, and consumer lending regulations
• Ability to manage high-volume litigation across multiple geographies
• Proven leadership in building and guiding legal teams and working cross-functionally
• LLB/LLM from a recognized university; Bar Council registration preferred

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
