Job description:
JOB PURPOSE
To design, implement, and optimize customer’s DWDM optical transport network, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational excellence. The role includes end-to-end project implementation, milestone tracking, acceptance process execution, and coordination with vendors and internal teams to achieve timely and compliant network delivery
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement DWDM systems covering metro, regional, and long-haul networks.

Develop and review HLD and LLD with full optical power budget, OSNR, and dispersion analysis.

Define redundancy and protection schemes ensuring no single point of failure.

Coordinate project rollout, ensuring milestone achievement and progress tracking through approved schedules.

Establish acceptance criteria for DWDM links, including BER, latency, and power level thresholds.

Conduct FAT, SAT, and end-to-end acceptance testing with detailed reporting and sign-off.

Manage risk registers, escalation plans, and progress documentation for all DWDM projects.

Collaborate with IP/MPLS teams to align transport and packet layer integration.

Support equipment installation, commissioning, and final site acceptance in coordination with vendors.

Ensure complete documentation (MOPs, As-Built, Acceptance Reports) approved and archived.

Provide training and technical guidance to L2/L3 teams.

Evaluate vendors, review product compatibility, and ensure compliance with DETASAD technical standards
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.

Nokia, Ciena, Huawei, or Infinera DWDM certifications.

PMP or PRINCE2 preferred

Minimum 8 years in DWDM/Optical Network Design and Implementation.

Experience in optical network planning, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Exposure to multi-vendor DWDM environments and transport-layer interoperability.
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS

Strong understanding of ITU-T G.694.x, G.709, and optical transmission principles.

Hands-on experience with ROADMs, amplifiers, and optical monitoring tools (OTDR, OSA).

Excellent in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Visio.

Strong documentation and communication skills.

Ability to coordinate with vendors and manage project deliverables.

Arabic Native speaker and English (written and spoken)
