E-911 Communication Officer/Dispatch
Full-time Positions
Charles City County Sheriff’s Office is looking for qualified candidates to join our team as a Communications Officer! This is a critical role in keeping our community safe by dispatching law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency services. Salary is between $39,000 and $42,000 (Based on experience/qualifications) . Benefits: Front-loaded PTO, VRS Retirement System, Health Insurance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Answer & process 911 emergency calls
o Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) & NCIC/VCIN systems
o Communicate effectively in high-stress situations
REQUIRED TRAINING (Within 1 year)
o Basic Dispatch School (40 hours)
o VCIN/NCIC Certification (16 hours)
o CPR Certification (8 hours)
o Emergency Medical Dispatch (36 hours)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 18+ year old
· High School Diploma or GED
· Responsible work experience
· Valid Virginia driver's license a plus but not required
· Possess Basic Computer Skills
