Early Child Education Lead Teacher (2/3 Year old Room)

Position Summary
Salem Family Resources Learning Cooperative is seeking a passionate, dedicated Lead Teacher to support the academic, social, and developmental growth of children ages 2–5. This full-time role (30–40 hours per week) is ideal for an educator who loves working with young children, values collaboration, and is committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

The Lead Teacher plays a key role in fostering early learning through play-based instruction, positive relationships, and intentional teaching practices that support the whole child. This position would be mostly working with 2- 3-year olds and in addition to the curriculum learning; there would be support with potty training/diapers, and emotional/social development focused, nurturing and patience required with this population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment for children ages 2–5
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports early literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and creative exploration
  • Support each child’s academic, social, emotional, and developmental growth
  • Observe, document, and assess children’s progress and adapt instruction accordingly
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff and program leadership as part of a supportive team
  • Model positive behavior guidance strategies and support children’s self-regulation and problem-solving skills
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program planning as needed

Qualifications

  • Genuine love for educating and caring for young children
  • Experience working with children ages 2–5 in an early learning or childcare setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Required certifications and clearances per state regulations (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
