Northern Rockies Learning Center is a small childcare center nestled in the west side of Missoula.
Our teachers are passionate about providing a welcoming environment where children can develop their creativity, independence, and skills for their future! We strive to help our children reach their full potential by learning their unique, individual needs, while also fostering a love for learning, play, and connection to the world around them. We love spending much of our time outside biking, walking our wooded trails, and even sledding in order to help the children create a love for nature and activity! We follow the MCPS schedule for closures, which allows us to enjoy all major holidays off so that we are able to spend time with those important to us!

We are hoping to find a patient, fun, and energetic person to join our school! An ideal candidate is responsible, outgoing, and reliable, with the ability to create a cheerful environment for those around them!

Responsibilities include:

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in your care in both the classroom and playground/outside areas.
• Interaction with the children including play, educational activities, mealtime, and putting them down for nap.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom by picking up the area and following state set guidelines for sanitation.
• Understand behavioral management and implement proper, effective techniques to support child's needs.
• Use strong communication skills in order to interact with children, families, and staff members.
• Assist children with important life skills such as hygiene, bathroom needs, communication, emotional regulation, etc.

Schedule:

• We are open Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm.
• Shifts are generally 8-9 hours a day, with a 30-minute lunch break.
• While we are open five days a week, each employee does not normally work more than 4 days, giving us an extra day to rest, attend to other responsibilities, or enjoy hobbies and events that help us to feel fulfilled.
• We are hoping to find an individual with a flexible schedule to help us accommodate staff absences in the event of illness or time off. In return, we are committed to always reciprocating the support as needed!

Position is approximately 20-25 hours a week.
$15-16 to start depending on experience.

Holiday Pay/IRA Retirement Plan.

Adult & Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or must be completed within 30 days upon hire

You will be required to register with the Montana ECP (Early Childhood Project) and complete the initial trainings within 60 days if you are not already registered. An additional 16 hours of state approved training is required each year in order to maintain an active ECP registry status.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
