ABOUT US
Curiosity Grove Academy is a living, breathing learning community in Seguin, TX where children and teens aged 5 to 18 explore the world on their own terms. Our mixed pod studios bring learners of all ages together in an environment rooted in trust, wonder, and authentic connection. We draw from the richness of Waldorf, the Reggio Emilia Approach (reggiochildren.it/en/reggio-emilia-approach), self-directed learning, and unschooling philosophies to create a space where education unfolds from within each child.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You believe children are born capable. You have sat inside traditional education long enough to know that something essential is missing, and you are ready to be part of something that does it differently. You are not looking for a classroom. You are looking for a community.
This role might be right for you if you:
-
You believe children of all ages deserve agency over their own learning journey
-
You feel more like a guide and co-learner than an authority figure
-
You understand that a mixed age environment is a gift, not a challenge
-
You are energized by community, family partnership, and real-world connection
-
You lead with relationship first and trust the process
-
You are drawn to Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, self-directed, and unschooling philosophies
WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Serve as a warm, grounded presence across mixed pod studios for learners ages 5 to 18
-
Build genuine, lasting relationships with students and their families
-
Support child-led exploration, emergent projects, and passion-driven learning
-
Collaborate with a values-aligned team to shape and evolve our community culture
-
Hold space for younger children to play deeply and older learners to pursue meaningful work
-
Observe and document learning in ways that honor each child's unique path
-
Connect learners to mentors, community experiences, and real-world opportunities
WHAT WE HOPE YOU BRING
-
Lived or professional experience with Waldorf, the Reggio Emilia Approach, self-directed learning, unschooling, or similar philosophies
-
Experience working with or caring for children and teens across a wide age range
-
Deep comfort with child-led, emergent, and play-based approaches
-
Strong relational skills and a collaborative, community-minded heart
-
Comfort with flexibility, ambiguity, and the beautiful unpredictability of real learning
-
A background in education, child development, or youth work is welcome but not required if your values and experience align
WHAT WE OFFER
-
A mission-driven community where your instincts as an educator are trusted and valued
-
Autonomy to grow alongside the children and the school itself
-
A close-knit culture of educators, families, and learners who are all in this together
-
Competitive hourly pay with quarterly bonuses
-

-
Flexible scheduling that honors your life outside of work
-
