SUMMARY:
We are seeking a caring and knowledgeable Early Childhood Educator to provide maternity leave coverage in our EC program from mid January to Late April. The ideal candidate will bring strong early childhood teaching experience, a passion for working with young children, and an ability to maintain a warm, developmentally appropriate learning environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement and support developmentally appropriate curriculum, activities, and routines.
  • Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom aligned with whole-child development principles.
  • Utilize Conscious Discipline strategies to support social–emotional learning and positive classroom culture.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure instructional continuity and uphold school mission and expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • State teaching certification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Classroom experience with young children.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with parents and/or employees of an organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

COMPENSATION:
Long-term substitute teachers are compensated at a competitive daily rate, consistent with rates offered by similar schools in the area.
