About Us:
Dream Scholars is an all-day, year-round enrichment program for children aged 3-5, focusing on social-emotional learning (SEL) in a nature-based, farm setting. Our unique curriculum, developed with experts in teaching, counseling, early childhood education, and therapeutic riding, fosters holistic growth through a “whole child in nature” approach.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team and help shape the lives of our youngest learners in an engaging and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement age-appropriate, creative, and engaging lessons aligned with our “whole child in nature” curriculum.
- Foster social-emotional development through interactive activities and play.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes safety, respect, and curiosity.
- Incorporate hands-on, nature-based learning activities into daily routines.
- Assess and document student progress in cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to support each child’s individual needs and goals.
- Supervise outdoor activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom space.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching preschool-aged children in a structured environment.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for incorporating nature and experiential learning into teaching.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- State teaching certification (preferred but not required).
Other:
- Passion for working in a farm or nature-based setting.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs and engage in physical activity with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or interest in gardening and integrating plant care into educational activities.
