Early Childhood Teacher and Assistant Teacher

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to support holistic childhood development.
  • Lead classroom activities designed to enhance cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized environment that encourages positive behavior management and respectful interactions among children.
  • Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap schedules, diapering or potty training, and outdoor play to ensure a consistent and caring childcare experience.
  • Collaborate with families and colleagues to tailor educational strategies for children requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Use effective communication skills to document progress through assessments when appropriate; provide regular updates to parents and team members.
  • Participate in lesson planning sessions and ongoing professional development focused on childhood development theories, classroom management techniques, and teaching physical education or tutoring strategies.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in classroom settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles including curriculum development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play and structured activities.
  • Experience with toddler care routines and understanding of childhood development milestones.
  • Certification or coursework related to early childhood education or childcare is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing professional growth is encouraged.
