Early Elementary Teacher at Summer Day Camp

Job Summary: Camp Wonder is seeking dedicated, passionate, and experienced early elementary teachers to join our summer camp team. As a teacher in our camp, you will be responsible for a cohort of rising TK - rising 3rd grade campers while providing them with literacy and math instruction in a fun and engaging way. The ideal candidate will have experience working with this age group in an academic setting, possess strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a warm welcoming environment for our youngest campers ... previous camp experience is a plus!

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging literacy and math lessons for early elementary children.
- Manage the flow of the day with ease and grace.
- Communicate and work closely with other professional staff as well as counselors and CITs (Counselors In Training).
- Lead at least one creative workshop daily for the campers that is based on the theme of the current week/session.
- Collaborate with other professional staff and possibly parents to address the individual needs of students.
- Utilize early elementary education techniques to create a nurturing environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining first aid knowledge
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with early elementary aged students in a similar capacity
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities

(Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, psychology, counseling) and/or a teaching credential as well as first aid certification would be preferred.)
