JOB TITLE: Early Intervention Therapist - DT
DEPARTMENT: Children’s Service
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Director of Children’s Service
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
JOB STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Provide in-home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers (ages 0–3) with developmental delays or disabilities. This role supports children and families through assessment, individualized planning, and hands-on developmental therapy.

Deliver services in accordance with each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)

Conduct developmental assessments and contribute to IFSP development

Provide direct intervention to support cognitive, social-emotional, motor, and communication skills

Educate and coach caregivers on strategies to support child development

Complete required documentation, including visit notes and state forms

Participate in IFSP meetings, clinics, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Coordinate referrals for medical, social, and developmental services as needed

Maintain relationships with community partners and referral sources
-
Support preschool programming and seasonal camps (planning, enrollment, and implementation)

Report suspected child abuse and comply with all regulatory requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in home and community settings

Empathy and professionalism when working with children and families
-
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Ability to lift and carry children (up to 40 lbs)

Frequent physical activity including bending, lifting, and positioning children
-
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
-
Work occurs primarily in home/community settings with some office-based documentation
-
CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification
-
Certified Restraint Training
-
Completion of required agency and regulatory trainings (e.g., Human Rights, Safety, Medication Administration)

Maintain required credentials, including First Steps certification

Minimum of B.S. or B.A. in early childhood education, kindergarten education, elementary education, special education, BSN nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language pathology, and or a related degree in behavior science with an emphasis on human development.
