Early Morning Baker/Opener

The candidate for this position will be self-motivated, can work alone for periods of time, and likes to work early mornings. Your job will include baking, decorating all baked goods and preparing breakfast/lunch products for the day. Attention to detail and knowledge of food temperatures and food safety are essential, but can be developed through training.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee, beverages, and baked food, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, POS systems, and retail operations within a vibrant café setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and consistency
• Make sure all baked goods are done before the store opens
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders and providing excellent customer service
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist with food preparation and food safety practices as needed
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service
• Restock supplies and ensure product availability throughout shifts
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met

Qualifications

• Previous Barista experience or background in food service or the food industry is preferred
• Knowledge of POS systems
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and sales transactions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of food safety, food handling, and food preparation standards
• Experience with serving, cashiering, and retail math is desirable
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends if required
