Early Years Teacher

Job Summary

The Early Years Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality early childhood education to children aged 0–5 years. The role focuses on supporting children’s learning, development, safety, and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
  • Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support children’s independence
  • Work closely with parents/carers, providing regular feedback and updates
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support learning goals
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety policies are followed at all times
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Relevant teaching license or certification (where applicable)
  • Experience working with young children (nursery, preschool, or reception class)
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early learning frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
