Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Earthwork CAD Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in civil engineering projects. In this role, you will leverage advanced computer-aided design (CAD) tools and geographic information systems (GIS) to develop precise earthwork models, schematics, and system designs. Your expertise will support construction management, project scheduling, and technical writing efforts, ensuring seamless project execution from conception through completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, utilizing your skills in CAD drafting, system design, and project engineering to make a tangible impact for grading and paving jobs around the Valley.

Duties

  • Develop detailed earthwork models, schematics, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and other CAD software.
  • Integrate GIS data with CAD designs to enhance spatial accuracy for land surveying.
  • Assist in project scheduling and management by preparing timelines, resource allocation plans, and progress tracking documents.
  • Support construction management activities through construction inspection, system design validation, and technical writing of reports and specifications.
  • Utilize specialized software such as Agtek, Foundation, HCSS, and Heavybid.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and land surveyors to ensure accurate site data collection and application within CAD models.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field with a focus on earthwork or construction engineering preferred.
  • Proven experience with CAD drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit; familiarity with Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS platforms including ArcGIS and system design principles for water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Experience in project scheduling, construction estimating, construction management, and project engineering processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical writing and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
