Earthwork Logistics Coordinator

Overview

The Earthwork Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement of materials, trucking, and disposal operations to support efficient project execution across multiple construction and excavation projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Foremen, Trucking Vendors, and field personnel to ensure materials, equipment, and hauling operations are scheduled and coordinated efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize production. The Earthwork Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in managing dirt import/export logistics, coordinating dump and fill locations, tracking trucking activity, and supporting operational efficiency across all active projects. This position requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and operational coordination skills in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trucking schedules and material movement between projects, dump sites, and suppliers
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Foremen, Vendors, and Trucking Companies regarding hauling schedules and project needs
  • Coordinate dirt import/export operations and identify opportunities to balance materials between projects
  • Assist in locating and coordinating dump sites, fill locations, aggregate suppliers, and trucking resources
  • Monitor trucking activity and communicate schedule changes or operational delays proactively
  • Maintain accurate trucking, hauling, disposal, and material tracking records
  • Assist in managing trucking costs and identifying opportunities to improve hauling efficiency
  • Collaborate with field teams to support project production schedules and minimize downtime related to material movement
  • Maintain positive relationships with trucking vendors, suppliers, dump sites, and customers
  • Support Project Managers with material tracking, hauling coordination, and logistics planning
  • Work toward continuous improvement in logistics coordination, communication, and operational efficiency
  • Assist with emergency scheduling adjustments and changing project demands as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, excavation, trucking coordination, dispatching, logistics, or material management preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing operational needs
  • Familiarity with excavation, trucking, dirt movement, aggregates, or heavy civil construction operations preferred
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Management, Project Managers, Foremen, Vendors, and Trucking Companies
  • Proficient computer and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reporting
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
