- Performing ECG Tests:
- Attach electrodes to patients’ chest, arms, and legs to record electrical impulses of the heart.
- Monitor and record heart rhythms to help detect issues such as arrhythmias, heart attacks, or other heart conditions.
- Interpret ECG results in consultation with the supervising physician.
- Performing Echocardiograms:
- Conduct non-invasive imaging tests (ultrasound) to create images of the heart using high-frequency sound waves.
- Assess the structure and function of the heart, including chambers, valves, and blood flow.
- Record and analyze echocardiogram results and provide preliminary findings to the supervising cardiologist or physician.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients during the exam for optimal image quality.
- Patient Preparation:
- Prepare patients for tests by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Answer patient questions regarding the ECG/Echo procedure.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after tests to ensure no adverse reactions occur.
- Data Recording and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of test results and patient data.
- Review test results and assist in identifying abnormalities.
- Create clear, concise reports of test findings for review by physicians.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and calibrate ECG/Echo equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Ensure that ultrasound devices, electrodes, and other diagnostic equipment are cleaned and sterilized.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
- Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient care.
- Communicate test results, and follow up with patients as needed.
- Patient Education:
- Educate patients about lifestyle modifications or follow-up care when necessary.
- Provide guidance on how to manage heart health, when applicable.
