ECN ECR Engineer

Job Description

Designation: Engineer – ECN / ECR (Engineering Change Note / Request)

Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma (Mechanical / Production)

Experience: 3+ Years / 4+ Years

Role Summary

The ECN/ECR Engineer will be responsible for managing engineering changes, design modifications, and documentation control through PLM and ERP systems. The role involves close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of design changes in manufacturing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and implement ECN/ECR (Engineering Change Note / Request).

• Create and modify 3D models, layouts, and large assemblies using Solid Edge.

• Handle complete projects in 3D CAD modeling environments from concept to release.

• Manage drawing revisions, version control, and BOM updates in Teamcenter PLM.

• Release engineering drawings and BOMs as per the defined change management process.

• Participate in ECN/ECR Cross Functional Team (CFT) meetings and ensure clear communication.

• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, SCM, and Production teams.

• Verify actual implementation of ECN changes on the manufacturing line.

• Create and maintain design documentation, change records, and technical reports.

• Support item/part creation and BOM upload in Oracle NetSuite ERP.

• Coordinate with suppliers for design clarifications and execution of engineering changes.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, manufacturing feasibility, and quality norms.

• Handle multiple engineering change requests while meeting project timelines.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Basic knowledge of mechanical structural design and manufacturing processes.

• Hands-on experience in 3D CAD modeling and handling large assemblies.

• Strong understanding of ECN/ECR processes and change lifecycle management.

• Knowledge of BOM structure, revision control, and engineering documentation standards.

• Good communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.

• Highly organized with strong follow-up and execution abilities.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Domain Experience (Preferred)

• Fire / Foam Trucks

• Liquid Waste Management Products

• Truck Superstructures (Load Bodies, Tippers)

• Heavy Machinery and Special Purpose Vehicles

Software Knowledge Required

• CAD: Solid Edge, NX
