Overview
The Ecommerce Merchandising Coordinator will assist in the development, execution and analysis of Cavender’s online merchandising strategy, playing a key role in delivering superior customer experience, driving engagement and boosting conversion. Collaborating with the Ecommerce team and key stakeholders in merchandising, marketing and technology – ensuring seamless alignment between brand messaging, product strategy, and customer experience on our digital platforms. The role is accountable for Ecommerce performance, site navigation, process optimization and hitting milestones. This role reports to the Director of Ecommerce. It also emphasizes accurate product content, onsite search optimization, and effective site merchandising coordination. The ideal candidate is a passionate leader, focused on brand engagement and continuous improvement, thriving in a fast-paced environment with an eye for detail and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Assist in the creation of, maintenance, and adherence of Cavender’s Ecommerce Merchandising standards and guidelines, in partnership with merchandising, technology and marketing stakeholders.
- Maintain the process for new product listings, ensuring accurate imagery, descriptions, attributes, and categorization.
- Leverage expertise in site navigation to ensure intuitive user experience, optimizing category structures, product sorting, and navigation pathways to enhance ease of use.
- Review the site daily to ensure proper product categorization and promotional functionality.
- Utilize expertise in taxonomy to structure product categories and attributes effectively, ensuring a logical and user-friendly organization that enhances product discoverability and directly impacts site navigation and search performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on product improvements, including content, imagery, pricing, promotions, and assortments.
- Assist with product uploads, category updates, maintenance, and promotional activities.
- Monitor inventory levels in collaboration with Merchandising to ensure availability aligns with demand.
- Refine and optimize on-site search, including type-ahead functionality, product categorization, and sorting to deliver accurate, relevant results and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Marketing, and Digital teams to create and manage landing pages, collections, and promotional pricing.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Merchandising, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Ecommerce Site Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing or Retail.
- Hands-on experience of an Ecommerce platform – SFCC.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently and effectively cross-functionally.
- Highly organized with an ability to prioritize and multi-task with a strong attention to detail and process.
- Superior skills working with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic web tools.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of website analytics tools.
- General understanding of common Ecommerce KPIs, target setting and external benchmarks.
- Understanding of digital marketing/demand generation tactics (e.g. email marketing, SEO/PPC, digital display, etc.) and the associated success metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; East Texas area residence.
- Travel up to 10% as required.
Preferred Skills
- Footwear and apparel experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential materials and matters with discretion.
- Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Comfortable communicating and presenting at all levels.
