Role Objective

Kundan Trading is seeking a mathematically gifted Economic Modeler to join our global trading division. Based in Manama, you will design and implement sophisticated quantitative models to forecast market movements, optimize trading strategies, and manage risk across our diversified portfolio, with a primary focus on precious metals and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Development: Build and maintain econometric and statistical models (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations, Time Series Analysis) to identify market opportunities.
• Data Analysis: Synthesize vast datasets from global exchanges to provide actionable intelligence to the Trading Director and senior leadership.
• Risk Mitigation: Quantify potential portfolio exposure and develop stress-testing frameworks to protect the firm’s assets during market volatility.
• Strategic Reporting: Translate complex mathematical outputs into executive-level reports, providing clear recommendations on asset allocation.
• Process Optimization: Continuously refine automated trading algorithms and valuation tools to enhance accuracy and execution speed.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Master’s or PhD in Economics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Experience: 5–8 years of experience in economic modeling or quantitative research, preferably within a hedge fund, bullion trading house, or investment bank.
• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with Bloomberg/Refinitiv data terminals.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of commodity markets, particularly gold and precious metals.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
