Working directly with students, administers a variety of academic assessments and interventions.
Collaborate with, and assist school staff in making educational decisions on how to best serve students in their least restrictive environment.
Assist staff in understanding the learning, social-emotional and behavioral needs of students, and develop effective strategies to help all children be successful learners.
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Research and identify resources for teachers to meet student needs, related to IEP goals.
Identifies and provides, as appropriate, training for teachers and other staff to better understand a student’s needs, and how to best meet those needs.
Serves as a member of the school MTSS Team.
Assists and supports teachers by performing classroom observations, providing feedback and modeling where appropriate.
Conducts fidelity checks on implementation of special education programs.
Provides coordination of services for assigned school(s) i.e. records request, facilitating SpEd team meetings, Para scheduling, SRS paperwork, assigning case managers, scheduling, focal point for questions from staff and parents, flags on Infinite Campus, manifestation determinations, new student induction, student transitions, student SpEd recordkeeping monitoring and compliance.
Assist with student referrals, including specialized referrals i.e. OT, PT, Vision, hearing, ASD, AT, Skills Academy.
Serves as diagnostician for assigned school, including procedural compliance, academic screenings, compilation and analysis of data, and collaborative planning with staff.
Assist and support students with scheduling and taking the NeSA.
Determines and provides student testing accommodations.
Monitors AIMSWeb scores and AIMSWeb/Acuity Benchmarks to new students.
Assist with academic and behavior interventions, and progress monitors.
Administers Forced-Choice surveys to students.
