The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Editor who can own and elevate the voice of LBM Journal across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
You’ll be shaping coverage, building relationships across the industry, and producing content that industry leaders read and trust.
What You'll Do
- Lead the editorial vision and strategy across magazine, website, newsletters, and digital channels
- Write, assign, and edit feature stories, news, profiles, and industry analysis
- Identify trends, issues, and opportunities that matter to LBM professionals
- Conduct interviews with executives, dealers, and subject-matter experts
- Plan and execute editorial calendars aligned with industry events and business cycles
- Oversee special projects including surveys, research, and data-driven features
- Engage with the audience through events, webinars, and industry conferences
- Build relationships with key voices across the industry—and become one yourself
- Manage freelance contributors and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
- Collaborate with sales and marketing on sponsored content and custom projects (while maintaining editorial integrity)
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of editorial experience (B2B or trade publishing strongly preferred)
- Strong writing, editing, and interviewing skills
- Ability to make complex topics clear, relevant, and engaging
- Experience managing contributors and editorial workflows
- Comfort working across print and digital platforms
- Curiosity about business, markets, and how industries operate
- Willingness to travel to industry events and build relationships
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
