ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide administrative support, including assisting editors with author email correspondence and payment letters, adding credit lines to published article PDFs for reprinting purposes, tracking author payments, filing all paper copy correspondence and articles into archive files, directing phone inquiries to appropriate staff, monitoring company email accounts with discretion, updating dairy market web pages when needed, distributing magazine issues and the Daily Dairy Report to personnel, creating author deadline schedules, assigning keywords to photos in the company database, sending calendars to authors, stocking magazine files, handling special projects such as our annual cow judging contest, assisting with the summer intern’s projects, and ordering award plaques.
Provide editorial support, including formatting and copy editing all article copy — prioritizing copy based on deadlines — for editorial department routing purposes, adding corrections and changes to copy, proofreading e-newsletters and articles when the editorial department coordinator is out of office, and consulting with other editorial staff regarding the company style and word list, Associated Press (AP) Style, and grammar usage.
