Editorial Projects Coordinator

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Write and edit content across the Foundation’s print and digital platforms, including contributing to texts used as part of open calls, social media posts, press releases, overviews, forewords, scripts, interviews, news items and reports.
  2. Offer proposals and ideas for the development of new print and digital editorial projects including critical writing fellowships, publications, podcasts and blogs.
  3. Overseeing logistical coordination and providing administrative support for various projects to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  4. Maintain consistency in content quality and adherence to the Foundation’s established style and standards.
  5. Assist in preparing the budget for editorial projects, track expenses and invoices with the finance team.
  6. Work with colleagues from different departments and sections in the foundation to develop and execute the established content strategy.
  7. Work with external organisations to help execute projects for the Foundation.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English Language, Literature or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in editorial, publishing, content creation.
  3. Previous experience working in cultural institutions, museums, or arts organizations (preferred).
  4. Knowledge (on the level of an educated native speaker) of British English syntax, vocabulary, punctuation and spelling.
  5. Skill in writing and editing different types of texts.
  6. Skill in understanding tone, format, language, ideas communicated across different print and digital platforms.
  7. Proficency in Microsoft Word, including Markup, and Outlook.
  8. Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and deliver results under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  9. Creative problem-solving skills.
  10. High level of concentration and attention to detail.
  11. Methodical and well-organised approach to work.
  12. Tact and diplomacy in working with others.


Conditions of Work

The role is a fulltime position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday. Before Sharjah Biennials and other major exhibitions and events, additional work may be required.
