We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented editorial specialist to join our creative team.
This role is ideal for someone who loves polishing content and ensuring every piece is clear, accurate, consistent and on-brand. The position is a blend of proofreading, copyediting and copywriting, with the majority of time spent reviewing and refining content before it goes to clients.
Our team works closely with our clients. This means the perfect fit for this role also has excellent customer service skills and communicates clearly, kindly and professionally with clients, vendors and other contacts.
This is a hybrid role working two days per week in-office in Pickerington, Ohio.

Responsibilities
- Proofread a wide range of materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, formatting, consistency and brand alignment before final delivery or publication.
- Copyedit content to improve clarity, flow, tone, structure and readability while preserving client voice and intent.
- Write and revise short-form and mid-length copy for print and digital projects, including headlines, email copy, web copy, social content, brochures and other marketing materials.
- Lead content discovery and feedback meetings with clients when needed.
- Apply agency and client style standards consistently across projects, and help maintain style guides, brand rules and editorial best practices.
- Fact-check names, dates, product details, claims, URLs and other content elements to ensure accuracy.
- Review content in layout to catch issues related to hierarchy, line breaks, design flow and overall readability.
- Collaborate with designers, account managers and other team members to align messaging with strategy, audience and project goals.
- Present edits and recommendations clearly, incorporate feedback thoughtfully and manage revisions with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Help ensure production excellence by performing final quality checks on deliverables and coordinating with internal teams to meet deadlines.

Qualifications
- BA/BS in English, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in proofreading, copyediting, copywriting or a related content role, with agency experience preferred
- Exceptional understanding of grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage and tone
- Strong editing skills, with the ability to improve content for clarity, consistency and effectiveness
- Experience writing marketing and business content across print and digital channels
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish priorities and meet ongoing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate with and maintain strong client relationships
- Familiarity with AP Style and brand editorial guidelines
- Experience working in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and GSuite
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- In office: Tuesdays and some Thursdays
- WFH: M, W, F with rare exceptions
- No weekends
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
