EDM Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented EDM Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment to produce precise metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality outputs while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the fabrication of complex parts used across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM machines, ensuring accurate calibration and programming based on blueprints and technical specifications
• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to produce precise components
• Perform routine maintenance on EDM machinery, including cleaning, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to inspect parts for conformance to specifications
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during operation, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and crane operations when handling heavy materials

Experience

• Proven experience operating EDM machines in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes
• Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately
• Knowledge of quality inspection methods using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot issues
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
