Role Overview

The Sales & Business Development Director will own the commercial P&L for Egypt & Levant and lead the company's sales function in this region. The primary responsibility is to deliver consistent revenue growth through a disciplined sales engine, supported by selective business development when required for large-scale or strategic deals.

This is a quota-carrying leadership role — the Director will be directly accountable for achieving sales targets, building and managing a high-performing sales team, and ensuring strong pipeline and forecasting discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Leadership

  • Deliver annual revenue and margin targets across SaaS subscriptions, custom eLearning, and large-scale projects.
  • Build, lead, and coach a sales team.
  • Set sales quotas, monitor performance, and drive accountability through KPIs.
  • Ensure accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Establish a repeatable sales playbook (prospecting, qualification, proposals, closing).

2. Business Development

  • Pursue special projects and strategic accounts (ministries, large corporates, donors) when aligned to sales goals.
  • Lead or support on tenders and complex bids, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Build targeted partnerships that directly enable sales outcomes.

3. Market Expansion

  • Drive penetration into Egypt and Levant (Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq).
  • Localize sales approach to each market while maintaining global standards.
  • Track competitor pricing, offerings, and market moves to adjust strategy.

4. Commercial Ownership

  • Own client negotiations end-to-end: proposal, pricing, and contracts.
  • Ensure profitable deal structures in collaboration with finance and PMO.
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell across product portfolio.

5. Representation

  • Represent the company with key clients and decision-makers.
  • Participate in regional events and forums as a sales ambassador.

Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Software Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a strong plus).

Experience:

  • 15+ years in sales and commercial leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering annual quotas (multi-million USD deals).
  • Deep experience in B2B/B2G sales within EdTech, ICT, training, or SaaS.
  • Strong background in managing sales teams (5–10 people).

Skills:

  • Results-driven, quota-oriented sales leader.
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent people management and coaching abilities.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
