- Student Guidance:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students.
- Help students identify their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and abilities through assessments and interviews.
- Assist students in setting realistic academic and career goals.
- Academic & Career Planning:
- Provide information and guidance on course selection, career paths, and continuing education options.
- Help students prepare for college admissions and entrance examinations.
- Organize workshops on study skills, career readiness, and college applications.
- Support and Resources:
- Develop and implement academic and personal support programs, such as tutoring and mentoring.
- Provide information on resources and refer students to external organizations or professionals when needed.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to identify and address learning or behavioral issues.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain confidential records of student assessments, session notes, and academic progress.
Qualifications
- Education:A Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience:Proven experience in an academic advising or counseling role is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Interpersonal & Communication: Strong abilities to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Empathy: The capacity to understand students' needs and concerns.
- Analytical: Skills to interpret assessments and analyze student behaviors.
