New Perspectives is a transitional living program for neurodiverse young adults. We provide a supportive environment where students can develop independence and confidence through clinical support, life skills coaching, academic & job readiness training, and wellness coaching. Our team works collaboratively to help each student move toward greater self-reliance and success in daily life.

About the Role

We’re seeking a compassionate and reliable Educational Coach/Study Skills Teacherto join our team in Orem, Utah. In this role, you’ll support neurodiverse young adults as they progress in their independent living. this may include one on one teaching and coaching, apply coping strategies, strengthen life skills, and build healthy routines. Coaches are hands-on mentors who model positive behaviors and encourage growth in everyday settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in practicing and integrating coping and life skills
  • Teaching study skills
  • One on one tutoring
  • Executive function support
  • Communication with Teachers, Professors, Academic offices.
  • Support navigating academic accommodations
  • Build positive relationships with students
  • Serve as a positive role model in behavior, communication, and self-care.
  • Document daily notes and progress on students
  • Communicate effectively with case managers, therapists, and other staff
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and submit timely documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Education or experience in the field of education.(must have completed basic writing and math at the college level.)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license, cell phone, and reliable transportation
  • Able to pass a Utah criminal background check
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries while building rapport
  • Ability & willingness to work with the LGBTQ+ population
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding of neurodiverse young adults
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or near completion preferred.
  • Availability to work 4–5 days per week, including evenings and weekends

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Shift differential for weekend shifts
  • Mileage reimbursement and compensation for on-shift expenses

Schedule

  • Part-time, Full-time
  • Afternoons and evenings required.
