Educational Specialist

Moreau Catholic High School is currently seeking an Educational Specialist beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

Founded in 1965 under the sponsorship of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Catholic High School emphasizes college-preparatory excellence in all programs designed to facilitate the informative, formative, and transformative needs of the individual student. Located approximately 25 miles southeast of San Francisco, in Hayward, California, Moreau Catholic is dually accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). With approximately 850 students, the co-educational student body reflects the rich ethnic and cultural diversity of the Bay Area, and the school has enjoyed a 99% collegiate matriculation. Our graduating seniors are accepted into 1,000+ universities and colleges yearly, and have been offered, on average, between $11M and $14M in scholarships and grants to these institutions.

The Educational Specialist models the highest standards of professional and collegial conduct in support of the school’s mission and philosophy. The Educational Resource Specialist initiates and demonstrates leadership and management skills through promoting positive faculty, staff, and student collaboration while fostering high expectations, excellence, and creativity throughout the areas of his/her responsibilities.

Specifically, the Educational Specialist oversees academic support programs, learning needs assessment, and Academic Support Center programs for all students, in addition to managing accommodation plans for students with learning differences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the counseling department and classroom teachers on supporting academically struggling students and students with learning differences.
  • Generating and interpreting student profiles for classroom teachers.
  • As needed, support the Saints and Scholars program and the Admissions Department personnel in interviewing and evaluating applicants.
  • In partnership with the Assistant Principal for Instruction, creating academic intervention plans, hosting meetings, and initiating communication with parents and students for students on academic probation.
  • Providing teachers with resources and training on learning difference theory, classroom accommodations, and diagnostic assessment fundamentals.
  • Providing push-in classroom support as well as pull-out 1:1 or small group academic and social support
  • Supporting professional development for faculty on meeting the needs of diverse learners
  • Teaching small tutorial classes on organizational and study skills

Education and Skill Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, School Psychology, Child Development, Educational Psychology, or related field, required;
  • Master’s degree, preferred;
  • Clear, California Credential, preferred;
  • Experience working in a high school setting, preferred;
  • 2-3 years in special education or related field, required;
  • 4+ years in special education or related field, preferred;
  • Interpretation and evaluation of psycho-educational testing skills, required;
  • Interpretation and application of test results to identify learning gaps and learning
  • styles, required;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, required;
  • Pre-planing, predicting time-frames, and meeting deadlines, required.

Moreau Catholic High School maintains a competitive salary compensation scale based on education and years of experience.

Salary range for the Educational Specialist is $65,000 - $93,000.
