Educator Partner

Immediate Start Available

(After Background Check)

About Us

The MJB School of Life is a community-based learning center in Riverdale, Georgia, shaped by Clayton County and committed to helping our community thrive.

We are building something bigger than tutoring. We are developing and testing an innovative learning methodology called the B Method, designed to better support students with ADHD and other learning differences while also reducing educator stress and burnout.

This is not a standard tutoring job. This is a chance to help build a movement in education.

About the Role

We are seeking an Educator Partner, not just a tutor.

You will work directly with students in grades 1 through 5 in small-group and one-on-one settings, primarily focused on literacy and STEM-based projects and experiments. At the same time, you will help us refine, document, and strengthen the B Method as part of an active research and grant-supported initiative.

Your observations, structured reflections, and light data collection will contribute to studying the effectiveness of the B Method. All student information will be anonymized and used strictly for research and grant development purposes.

This is a collaborative, partner-level role where your voice, feedback, and creativity matter.

Schedule

  • Primarily weekdays between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm
  • Occasional Saturdays for camps and special programs
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs
  • Immediate start after background check clearance

This role is ideal for educators with flexible availability.

Compensation & Classification

  • $25 per hour
  • 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Paid training
  • Part-time, project-based
  • Hours dependent on grants and program cycles

Training

You will participate in paid B Method training delivered through a combination of online and in-person sessions. Scheduling will be coordinated around your availability.

There is a two-week mutual evaluation period after training begins to ensure alignment.

What You Will Do

  • Teach and mentor students using the B Method
  • Support students with ADHD and other learning differences
  • Design creative, structured lessons tailored to student needs
  • Participate in camps and special programming
  • Track student progress and contribute to research documentation
  • Reflect on educator well-being and workload impact
  • Help refine and co-create a scalable educational methodology
  • Contribute to future training materials and educator resources

Who You Are

  • You see yourself as a builder, not just an employee
  • You are open to experimentation and new teaching models
  • You are comfortable with observation, feedback, and light data collection
  • You enjoy designing curriculum and engaging activities
  • You can manage small groups with warmth and clear boundaries
  • You are interested in reshaping education for students who do not fit traditional molds

Teaching certification is a plus (and is prioritized) but not required.

Experience with ADHD, special education, behavioral strategies, or research is a plus but not required.

We strongly encourage educators from diverse backgrounds and teaching styles to apply.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move between tables and learning stations
  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage actively with students
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds

Requirements

  • Certified teachers in Clayton County are strongly preferred
  • Background check required prior to start
  • Must be able to work in person in Riverdale, GA
  • Must be open to occasional Saturday programming

This Role Is Not a Fit If You:

  • Prefer strictly scripted, rigid instruction
  • Are uncomfortable trying new methodologies
  • Want a traditional classroom structure every day
  • Are seeking short-term income only with no interest in helping build a model
