We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Warehouse Designer/Modeler with specialized expertise in Teradata environments. The ideal candidate will design robust data warehouse solutions, possess strong telecommunications domain knowledge, and translate complex business requirements into optimized data models.
Experience Required: Minimum 5+ years in enterprise data warehousing and data modeling
Core Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Architecture

Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data warehouses
- Specialize in Teradata modeling including partitioning, indexing (PI, SI, NUSI), join indexes, and statistics optimization
- Transform source data into target EDW models; design fact/dimension tables and implement SCD Types 1, 2, 3
Data Profiling & Analysis

Conduct data profiling on source systems to identify quality issues, patterns, and anomalies
- Analyze source data structures, relationships, and dependencies; perform data lineage and impact analysis
Business Requirements & Collaboration

Understand and analyze business requirements from business units, analysts, and tribes
- Collaborate with business tribes (product, marketing, finance, operations), development teams, ETL developers, and DBAs
- Conduct discussions with source system owners and subject matter experts
Data Validation & Documentation
-
Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation; execute data quality checks
- Create mapping documents, High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and technical specifications
- Maintain data dictionary, metadata repository, and operational documentation
Development & Implementation

Design and optimize database objects; implement Teradata-specific optimizations (PI/SI selection, join indexes, statistics, workload management)
- Write complex SQL for data analysis and validation; support ETL teams with technical guidance
Required Skills
Technical Expertise
- Teradata (Required): Advanced knowledge of architecture, SQL, utilities (BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT), optimization, partitioning, and indexing
- Oracle: Strong experience with PL/SQL and performance tuning
- SQL: Expert-level programming across multiple platforms (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Data modeling tools (Erwin, PowerDesigner); ETL tools exposure (Ab Initio, Informatica)
- Data warehouse concepts: Star/snowflake schema, dimensional modeling (Kimball), normalized modeling (Inmon)
Domain Knowledge - Telecommunications

Strong understanding of telecom business processes and data domains
- OSS: Network inventory, provisioning, fault/performance management
- BSS: Billing, customer/order management, revenue assurance, product catalog
- Telecom KPIs: ARPU, churn rate, network utilization, service quality
