EFDA Dental Assistant

Job Overview
Our office is growing and we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Open Dental is a plus, being Bilingual English and Spanish, as well as being cross trained with some administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Take medical documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as needed.
  • Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, applying fluoride treatments, and assisting with sealants.
  • Manage patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently.
  • Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary.
  • Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental.
  • Knowledge of Implant/Surgery dentistry practices is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation.
  • Ability to assist in various dental specialties including surgeries and general dentistry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
  • Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
