You will be embedded as part of our core team on a flexible, ad-hoc basis, participating in sales calls, scoping sessions, and client engagements as opportunities arise. When projects land, your hours and involvement will ramp up accordingly.
The ideal candidate combines deep, hands-on experience with EHR APIs, clinical data standards, and interoperability frameworks with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and instill confidence in prospective clients.
Responsibilities

- Help scope and estimate EHR integration work during pre-sales engagements, translating client needs into actionable technical proposals
- Build trust and credibility with prospective clients by demonstrating deep platform knowledge and sharing relevant integration experience during sales conversations
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations with EHR platforms including Epic, Cerner (Oracle Health), athenahealth, and other major systems
- Build and manage connections with health data aggregators (e.g., Particle Health, Zus Health, Health Gorilla, 1up Health, Flexpa) to enable seamless data exchange
- Implement and maintain FHIR R4, HL7 v2, CCDA, and other interoperability standards across integration pipelines
- Work with EHR-specific APIs, including Epic FHIR APIs, Cerner Millennium/Ignite APIs, and athenahealth Marketplace APIs
- Develop and manage OAuth 2.0/SMART on FHIR authentication flows for patient and provider-facing applications
- Collaborate with product and clinical teams to translate healthcare workflow requirements into technical integration specifications
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve integration issues across multiple EHR environments and sandbox/testing instances
- Document integration architecture, data mappings, and API workflows to support team knowledge sharing and onboarding
- Ensure all integrations comply with HIPAA, ONC regulations, and EHR vendor certification requirements
- Monitor integration health, build alerting, and optimize data throughput and reliability
Experience
- Proven experience in healthcare IT integration projects involving EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
- Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), DICOM, and other healthcare data standards.
- Hands-on experience with API development, RESTful services, and middleware tools used in health IT environments.
- Familiarity with security protocols and encryption techniques essential for safeguarding sensitive health information—experience with quantum engineering principles is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, developers, and project managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics or a related field; advanced certifications in health IT or quantum engineering are advantageous. Embark on a rewarding journey where your technical expertise directly impacts patient outcomes by enabling smarter, faster healthcare solutions!
