The EHS Coordinator supports Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, assisting with training initiatives, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety documentation. This role plays a key part in hazard prevention, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Training
- Assist in onboarding new employees with safety training and PPE setup
- Support coordination of PPE vending machine setup and distribution of safety shoe and prescription safety glasses vouchers
- Help implement and maintain EHS training programs for employees
Workplace Safety & Hazard Prevention
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards
- Assist with scheduling and conducting emergency response drills
- Monitor and track compliance with safety programs and metrics
- Participate in workplace Gemba walks to assess safety conditions
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
- Support accident investigations and assist in root cause analysis
- Help drive corrective actions and track completion of safety improvements
- Assist in maintaining records for workers’ compensation claims and reporting
Process Maintenance & Documentation
- Maintain safety records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation
- Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and regulatory reports are current and up to date
- Support preparation for audits and regulatory inspections
Employee Engagement & Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as a safety resource for employees and encourage open communication
- Support safety committee meetings and related initiatives
- Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee participation
- Assist Quality, Maintenance, Projects, or Manufacturing Operations as needed when not performing EHS-related tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety best practices into daily operations
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual required
- Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience, preferably in an EHS-related role
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage employees
- Experience in safety inspections, training, or compliance preferred
- Basic understanding of incident investigation and reporting procedures
- Basic mechanical knowledge
Education
- High School Diploma required
- Degree in EHS, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
