Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Eighth Grade Math Teacher to inspire and educate students in a dynamic classroom environment. Duties
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse teaching methods and learning technologies.
- Teach a comprehensive range of mathematics topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations.
- Develop assessments such as quizzes, tests, and standardized exams to evaluate student progress and understanding.
- Provide individualized tutoring and academic advising to support diverse learning needs and promote academic achievement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive discipline strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Foster a collaborative learning environment that encourages inquiry, scientific research, and critical analysis of mathematical concepts.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integration of laboratory activities related to biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, and other sciences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in higher education teaching are preferred.
- Proven classroom experience with eighth-grade students in private or public school settings.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, and differential equations.
- Experience with laboratory dissection techniques and research laboratory procedures is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using learning technology tools for instructional design and classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to develop curriculum content that integrates scientific research methods and library services into lesson plans.
- Skills in classroom management, behavior management strategies, proofreading of instructional materials, and standardized testing preparation.
- Experience with special education needs or Montessori teaching methods is a plus. Pay: $40,000.00 - $71,125.00 per year
