Elderly Caregiver

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in various care settings. You will be responsible for delivering personalized care that enhances quality of life while adhering to all safety and health regulations.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition, reporting any changes promptly
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, implementing personalized care plans
  • Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and ensure proper documentation of all care activities
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being

Requirements

  • Proven experience in senior or home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid
  • Familiarity with specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
  • Valid certifications in CPR, first aid, and any relevant state-specific caregiving credentials preferred
