Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and attentive caregiver to provide dedicated assistance to an elderly male individual in his home. Experience needed with the wick system for male. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being. The ideal candidate will be energetic, reliable, and experienced in senior care, with a strong focus on patient observation and personalized support.

Duties

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor and observe the patient’s health status, including vital signs and overall condition, while maintaining detailed medical documentation
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
  • Support memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by implementing personalized routines and safety measures
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the patient’s quality of life, fostering a positive environment at home
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document care activities accurately and maintain medical records

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in senior or home health care, including assisted living or nursing home settings
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, catheter care, hospice care, and dementia/memory care techniques
  • Certifications such as CPR or First Aid are highly preferred; additional training in Alzheimer’s care or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
  • Familiarity with medical documentation systems like EMR/EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to perform patient observation effectively and respond promptly to changing health needs
  • Strong communication skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Demonstrated reliability in providing live-in or long-term care support in a home environment
