Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Electrical Apprentice to join a successful Electrical firm. As the Apprentice Electrician you will be supporting the day to day activities, learning the necessary skills to be a qualified Electrician.

As an Electrical Apprentice you will be working and developing your trade alongside attending Carshalton College for your college training.

Your initial duties will include;

1 - Maintain cleanliness of the site in which we are working at all times
2 - Maintain and report on van stock levels
3 - Assist the lead electrician as required and instructed
4 - Read, understand and follow company H&S policy at all times

You will be working towards your Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship with college attendance at Carshalton College - one day per week.

(Wages will be based on minimum wage depending on age for 40 hours a week, however, will progress quickly in line with development.

For a 16 to 18-year-old apprentice electrician, the legal minimum is £8.00 per hour.)

Entry requirements

To have proof of certificates for the following in either GCSE grade 4/C or above, or Level 2 functional skills:

  • Maths
  • English
Training to be provided

During your apprenticeship you will cover the following units during your time at Carshalton College;
  • Understand and apply health & safety and environmental considerations.
  • Electrical scientific principles & technologies.
  • Understand design and installation practices and procedures.
  • Understand how to plan and oversee electrical work activities.
  • Organise and oversee electrical work environment.
  • Understand terminations and connections of conductors.
  • Terminate and connect conductors.
  • Apply design and installations practices and procedures.
  • Apply practices and procedures for maintenance.
  • Understand inspection, testing and commissioning.
  • Inspect, test and commission electrical systems.
  • Understand and apply fault diagnosis rectification.
  • Understand the requirements for electrical installations BS7671:2018.
Things to consider

The work will be based in around the south and central London area, you will need to be happy travelling within the area for work.
Driving license is advantageous but not essential first year. Certainly, by year 2 and 3 its required.
