Plant 3D Electrical Designer – Roles & Responsibilities

1 Electrical Modeling & Layout

Develop 3D electrical models in AutoCAD Plant 3D for industrial plants.

Create and manage cable trays, conduits, raceways, and supports.

Model lighting fixtures, panels, junction boxes, motors, and equipment.

Ensure proper routing, clearances, and accessibility as per design standards.

2.Preparation of BOQ.

3.Design Coordination

Coordinate with piping, mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and structural teams.

Resolve clash detection issues using Navisworks / Plant 3D tools.

Ensure electrical layouts align with equipment locations and piping routes.

4.Electrical Drawings & Deliverables

Generate GA drawings, electrical layouts, and 2D plans from the 3D model.

Prepare:

Cable tray layouts

Lighting layouts

Earthing & lightning protection layouts

Equipment and panel location drawings

Maintain drawing accuracy and revisions as per project procedures.

5.Cable & Raceway Design

Perform cable routing and tray sizing based on project inputs.

Assist in preparation of:

Cable schedules

Tray schedules

Raceway schedules

Ensure compliance with IEC / IEEE / NEC / IS standards as applicable.

6. Data Management & Standards

Use and maintain Plant 3D electrical catalogs, layers, and project templates.

Follow client specifications, project standards, and QA/QC procedures.

Maintain tagging, naming conventions, and attributes accurately.

7. Interdisciplinary & Client Support

Support design reviews, model reviews, and HAZID/HAZOP meetings.

Incorporate client, consultant, and site feedback into design updates.

Assist construction teams by providing as-built drawings.

8. Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and electrical codes.

Implement best practices for maintainability and operability.

Perform self-checks and peer reviews before submission.

9. Software & Tools

AutoCAD Plant 3D (Electrical)

AutoCAD (2D detailing)

Navisworks (clash detection)

MS Excel (schedules, reports)

Key Skills Required

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems

Understanding of plant layouts and multidisciplinary coordination

Ability to read SLD, load lists, cable schedules

Attention to detail and adherence to standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,947.64 - ₹46,724.20 per month
