Electrical & Automation Engineer (Located in Liberia)

Avesoro is a leading gold mining company operating in West Africa, dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and responsible mining practices. We are expanding our engineering team and looking for a talented Electrical & Automation Engineer to support continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission and maintain electrical & automation systems,
• Program and optimize PLC and DCS control systems,
• Manage instrumentation calibration, troubleshooting, and performance,
• Respond quickly to system faults to ensure uninterrupted operations,
• Improve automation and instrumentation performance,
• Define and implement control strategies and automation logic,
• Design and update DCS/SCADA screens and logic sequences,
• Track and report KPIs for system improvements,
• Coordinate external service providers and contractors,
• Manage backups, updates, and cybersecurity for automation systems,
• Monitor spare part stock levels for electrical & automation equipment,
• Supervise MCCs, electrical panels, and switchgear maintenance,
• Provide technical support to field teams,
• Support new project designs for electrical & automation systems,
• Conduct RCA, risk assessments, and process improvement studies,
• Manage industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP),
• Develop and oversee Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and remote monitoring.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering programs

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of Industrial Automation

• Experience in SCADA and HMI design

• Good command of written and spoken English

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental and Energy Management Systems

• Experience with 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies
