Electrical Construction Manager
Location- Dammam- Saudi Arabia
Role:
Responsible for all site construction aspects of their assigned project and associated discipline (Electrical) . This includes involvement in constructability reviews of the handover pack from Tender Team and during tender process as required. Schedule planning input, resource management, site construction team management and coordination of all the construction tasks at site to assure installation quality from start to finish of the assigned project .
Construction Managers have primary responsibility for all site construction activities of the project and overall point of contact for all project construction team stakeholders. In addition to day-to-day management of sub-contractors for all site construction activities.
Responsibilities

Direct line of report Project Manager during execution / Pre-Construction Manager during tender

As assigned assist Pre-Construction Manager, MEP Manager and Estimating Team to ensure robust tendering.

As assigned critique tender documentation / Pre-Construction project handover documentation, identify project risks and constructability studies as assigned.

Review with engineering team to ensure all take-offs are in line with project requirements.

As assigned by the Pre-Construction Manager the Construction Manager will prepare the labour forecasts for an assigned project, at a minimum the Construction Manager will provide production input, review and management of Labour forecasts including budgets to ensure the budget is practical and not exceeded for the works once agreed.

Provide discipline and construction input to the project schedule in conjunction with Project Manager, Project Controls Engineer, MEP Manager and Specialist contractors in line with overall project delivery schedule.

Preparation / Input to sub-contractor Scope of Works documentation in coordination with MEP Manager to ensure all scope is captured including detailed attendances to mitigate risk of scope gaps in agreements.

Provide day-to-day links with clients or client consultants construction discipline team.

Manage all construction activities as per scope allocation and coordinate with all stakeholders to achieve the project milestones.

Ensure all construction work fronts are coordinated with other project discipline Construction Managers to ensure the most efficient use of site labour and equipment, especially areas of shared MEP services and commonality of support infrastructure, (scaffolding, bracketry, access to services, etc.).

Ensure all construction design / execution issues are addressed in coordination with MEP Manager and site Engineering Discipline Engineers.

Tracking site progress and providing updates to Project controls and Project Manager, identifying any risks to the schedule and ensuring all contingencies are put in place to maintain the schedule milestones.

Ensure any material take-off top-ups are coordinated with engineering, procurement and site commercial teams.

Site management of construction subcontractors to ensure all packages are delivered to JEG and project standards. This includes all progress updates to project controls including any performance issues or risks to the project schedule milestones.

Chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and arrange minutes of meetings for records.

Construction Managers will provide input to the JEG Subcontractor assessment procedure post project handover in coordination with Project Manager and Procurement Manager.

Coordination with MEP Manager and third-party subject discipline plant suppliers and specialist systems suppliers including Owner Furnished Equipment to ensure suitable interfaces are installed / available, e.g., correct supplies to equipment and third-party interface, etc.

Provide day-to-day links between MEP Manager as required to ensure the installation meets the design.

Ensure construction site teams are using the latest revisions of IFC documentation for works, in coordination with MEP Manager, BIM Manager and QA/QC.

Liaise and coordinate the builders’ work requirements with site Construction stakeholders / BIM Team.

Ensure adherence to all EHS and QA/QC requirements and be responsible for ensuring subordinate team and sub-contractors adheres to these requirements.

Management, coordination and generation of red-line drawings in coordination with subordinate site construction teams and QA/QC teams throughout the project to allow as built drawing and BIM updates to be completed as work progresses and are submitted to Code A

Coordination of construction team with QA/QC Team to ensure Client Representative site installation inspections are approved to Code A

Management / coordination / preparation of MR’s / RFQs for approval and issue to the Procurement department to issue to vendors as pertaining to construction materials.

Chair weekly meetings as required with JEG project department leads and arrange Minutes of meetings for records as applicable.

Coordinate and provide detailed input to the Project Controls Engineer for weekly Progress Report development, providing as a minimum: site progress updates, identification of risks to the planned work lookahead schedules, any material, labour or third-party issues as applicable that could impact the project schedule milestones.

Liaise with the commercial team in providing technical information and back-up on variations.

Escalate to Line Manager any construction issues arising that may affect project schedule or project execution plans.

Provide input to Project Change Management process via Project Controls Engineer and Project Manager

Handover & Delivery of systems to Commissioning team as per Commissioning requirements including all paperwork, etc. Ensure systems are completed to the required project standards.

Ensuring that the HSE requirements are observed in the execution of all construction activities.

Construction Managers would be expected as a minimum to be able to navigate the BIM Navis model to assist with their duties (training to be provided as applicable).

Provide regular input to the continuous improvement log (lessons learned), implementing changes where deficiencies are identified and corrective actions proposed.

Ensure awareness and compliance of the QSP’s which are located and maintained in the JEG Group Quality Library.

Experience And Qualifications

Time served apprenticeship an advantage.

Minimum 10 years work experience on construction projects.

Qualifications commensurate with position:

Role applicable degree from a reputed university / Trade Qualifications NVQ, etc.

Experience in Data Centre Projects an advantage.
-
Experience in owning and managing assigned commercial budgets.

Competent in the use of PC applications (Microsoft Office suit or equivalent).
