Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Experience: Minimum 5–8 years (Emaar projects mandatory)

Job Summary

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the complete electrical design of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, with specific experience delivering projects for Emaar. The role includes preparation of design calculations, drawings, specifications, and coordination with authorities and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with Emaar standards, local regulations, and international codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design concepts, detailed designs, and construction drawings for LV, ELV, lighting, power, and emergency systems.
• Develop load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, lighting calculations, and cable sizing.
• Design and review systems including:
• Power distribution (LV & MV interface)
• Lighting and lighting control systems
• Earthing and lightning protection
• Fire alarm and life safety systems
• ICT, BMS, CCTV, access control, SMATV, and other ELV systems
• Ensure full compliance with:
• Emaar Design Guidelines and Specifications
• DEWA Regulations
• UAE Fire & Life Safety Code
• IEC, BS, and relevant international standards
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to resolve design clashes and optimize layouts.
• Prepare and respond to Emaar design review comments, authority comments, and technical queries.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements during construction stages.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Attend design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and client presentations as required.

Authority & Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with DEWA, Civil Defense, telecom authorities, and Emaar representatives.
• Support NOCs, authority submissions, and approvals.

Software & Tools

• AutoCAD (mandatory), Revit MEP (preferred)
• Electrical calculation software (ETAP, Dialux, Relux, or equivalent)
• MS Office

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Strong knowledge of Emaar standards and approval processes
• Excellent understanding of UAE codes and authority requirements
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work independently and meet tight project deadlines

Preferred Experience

• Prior involvement in Emaar residential towers, villas, hotels, malls, or mixed-use developments
• Experience with consultant or developer-side design teams
