Electrical Engineer – Data Center (Design Specialist)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Electrical Design & Technical Execution

• System Design & Validation: Review, optimize, and validate complex designs for mission-critical electrical systems including substations (HV/MV), transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and PDUs.
• Redundancy Engineering: Support the design, development, and optimization of critical redundancy architectures (N+1, 2N, or equivalent).
• Power System Engineering: Perform, review, and validate advanced engineering studies including short-circuit studies, protection coordination, arc-flash analysis, load flow calculations, and harmonic assessments.
• Engineering Strategies: Define and implement electrical protection philosophies, grounding/earthing strategies, and system selectivity.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all design frameworks rigorously comply with international and local standards (NEC, IEC, and Dubai local authority requirements).

2. Technical Procurement & Project Support

• Specifications: Author and review comprehensive technical specifications for critical electrical procurement.
• Bid Evaluation: Conduct strict technical bid evaluations and handle complex vendor clarifications.
• Commissioning: Review submittals against design intent and actively support Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) alongside Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities.

PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FORMandatory Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated professional experience specifically within electrical design engineering.
• Industry Focus: Direct experience in the Data Center industry is highly preferred and considered a huge plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Design Tools: Strong, demonstrable proficiency with electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM) is essential.
• Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of HV/MV substations, UPS topology, power distribution, and protection systems.
• Standards: Solid familiarity with NEC, IEC, and UAE/Dubai electrical building codes.
