Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer – Power Plant Projects
Experience: 7+ Years (Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Gas and Steam power plant projects. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution of project deliverables.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide technical support during application, design, installation, and contract implementation phases.
• Coordinate engineering activities with sourcing, services, global engineering, requisition teams, and equipment suppliers.
• Prepare, develop, and review electrical cabling and interconnection deliverables for GT and ST units (Cable Drawings, Interconnection Drawings, Compartment Interconnections).
• Partner with requisition management to optimize cycle time and improve requisition processes.
• Ensure timely delivery of internal engineering and customer deliverables.
• Drive requisition goals and project objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Manage risks and resolve hardware factory or installation-related issues.
• Interpret and implement contract requirements and design practices.
• Stay updated with global codes, standards, tools, and processes.
• Maintain strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Experience in detailed engineering for Gas and Steam power plant projects.
• Strong expertise in designing electrical equipment including:
• Motor Control Centers (MCC)
• Batteries and Compartments
• Generator Breakers (52G)
• Neutral Grounding Equipment
• Generator Protection Systems
• AC/DC Panel Boards and Cabinets
• Electrical Compartments
• Transformers
• Proficiency in cable sizing as per NEC standards.
• Experience in developing plant Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
• Ability to prepare technical specifications for power plant electrical equipment.
• Experience working with suppliers, including drawing and document review/approval.
• Strong stakeholder management across departments.
• Knowledge of international standards: NEC, ANSI, IEEE, IEC.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications and preparing deviation lists.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience working on large-scale utility or EPC projects.
• Familiarity with global engineering practices and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 18 – 20 per week
