Electrical Designer

Job Description

We are searching for an Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our growing 17 person consulting engineering firm located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We will consider engineers or designers with all levels of experience. You will be involved in the design of virtually every type of building - we specialize in long term owner occupied buildings such as educational, healthcare, and governmental facilities where our attention to detail and quality designs are valued and appreciated.

What You’ll Do

• Field survey and evaluate existing facility Electrical systems
• Perform Electrical load calculations and lighting photometrics
• Present system options at project inception
• Meet with architects and building owners
• Design/draft/model Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Intercom systems
• Collaborate with our Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Engineers
• Author Electrical specifications
• Perform field inspections of your project during construction
• Prepare facility Electrical system reports

What You Bring

• Experience in AutoCad and/or Revit
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of building codes
• Desire to learn and grow in a relaxed, team atmosphere
• Friendly and helpful disposition
• PE license, or ability to obtain a PE license, is a plus, but not required

Final salary determination is based on previous experience in the same position and applicable skills the candidate possesses.
